Macaulay Beasley

Hello! I’m Macaulay Beasley, and my journey took an unexpected turn in 2020 when I lost my eyesight due to complications from COVID-19. At that moment, I was uncertain about my future until I discovered the incredible support of The National Federation of the Blind. Their impact on my life has been profound, and I’ll always remember attending my first convention in 2021 at the Louisiana State Convention, where I found a community that truly understood my experiences.

My path to regaining independence led me to the Louisiana Center for the Blind, where I developed the skills and confidence I needed to navigate the world again. Fueled by my passion for travel, I decided to further my education at Louisiana Tech, where I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance with a concentration in Orientation and Mobility. I also hold my National Orientation and Mobility Certification, which allows me to provide the best support to those I work with.

Today, I am proud to work at SAAVI Services For The Blind, where I dedicate my efforts to helping others reclaim their independence. I find great joy in giving back and empowering individuals to live their lives to the fullest.

In addition to my professional work, I am an active member of the NFB both on the state and national level. Locally, I am a member of the Phoenix chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Arizona, where I serve on various committees. During the 2024 NFB of Arizona State Convention I was elected to the affiliate board. I was also appointed as chair of the NFB of Arizona’s PAC committee. Nationally, I serve on the national committee for the PAC Plan.

When I’m not working or advocating, you can find me enjoying karaoke, dancing, and exploring the world. I believe in living life to the fullest and inspiring others to do the same!
